Telethon7, Home Group and Satterley are delighted to introduce Nazeem as the 2023 Telethon Home Ambassador.
Seven-year-old Nazeem lives with his mum and older brother in Perth’s south, nearby the 2023 Telethon Home in the idyllic coastal suburb of Madora Bay.
Nazeem’s father passed away suddenly just four months before he was born. Giving birth to Nazeem was devastating enough with his absence, but when Nazeem was born, he wasn’t breathing. After 13 long minutes, he finally took his first breath.
Nazeem now lives with cerebral palsy. His life is full of hospital visits and intensive therapies, but he is a young man with strength, courage, smiles and enthusiasm for life.
Nazeem receives support from Telethon beneficiary Healthy Strides Foundation, where he undergoes regular intensive physical therapy to improve his functional mobility independence, motor skills and quality of life.
Nazeem is no stranger to Telethon. In 2022, Home Group generously donated a bathroom renovation to Nazeem and his family. The new bathroom is a purpose-designed, accessible space for Nazeem to grow, be independent with his walker and chair, and continue to thrive.
The Telethon Home project is central to the annual Telethon Weekend fundraising and has contributed more than $27 million to Telethon since 2004.
Thanks to Home Group and Satterley, the proceeds from the sale help raise vital funds to support Telethon’s 107 charity beneficiaries and create better and brighter futures for children in Western Australia.
