The countdown is on – 100 days to Telethon!

The countdown is on!

In 100 days, RAC Arena and Perth City will be a sea of colour and fun for the 57th annual Telethon Weekend.

Held on October 19 and 20, the 26-hour event will be broadcast live on Channel 7 and 7plus with the Telethon Family Festival taking over Wellington St and Yagan Square on Sunday 20 October 2024.

We’re looking forward to welcoming back to the west coast television stars from Home and Away, Sunrise, The Morning Show and Dancing with the Stars.

Perth born and bred Samantha Jade is just one of the star-studded performers set to entertain.

Samantha Jade is looking forward to coming back to her hometown for Telethon.

Samantha can’t wait to return to the stage in Perth, saying there was truly no place like home.

“I’m so excited to return to my hometown of Perth and to be involved this year in Telethon, Samantha said. “It’s one of my favourite times of the year – the countdown is on to hit the stage for these special days ahead.”

Although the weekend is full of fun and laughter, its core mission is to raise much needed funds for the sick, vulnerable and disadvantaged children of Western Australia.

From million-dollar partners all the way to children donating their piggy banks, every dollar makes a difference. It is the grassroots community fundraisers that help to spread the word of Telethon, enabling a better future for their children.

A community fundraiser favourite is the good old-fashioned bake sale, and Emily is taking on her fifth bake sale to raise money for kids just like herself.

Emily Barlow with her famous Chocolate Chip Cookies, Emily has cerebral palsy and has been participated in a number of Telethon supported activities.

11-year-old Emily has cerebral palsy and has participated in Telethon supported activities including Abseilling with Whiz Kids, Learning to Swim with Superfins and improving her walking with the ZeroG machine at Healthy Strides.

This year, Emily is aiming to break her fundraising record, raising $3,000 through Scroll Saturdays, Holiday Macarons and her famous chocolate chip cookies.

As part of the Woolworths Bake Sale, Woolworths are giving $100 to Telethon fundraisers like Emily, who hold a bake sale, to cover the cost of ingredients.

For those non-bakers, there are other ways to Challenge Yourself to raise funds for Telethon such as swimming, running, shaving or sewing!

With 100 days to go, we’re asking all Western Australians to challenge themselves and raise funds for those WA kids who face unthinkable challenges every day of their lives.
